Encouragement is a necessary part of life. It keeps us going and picks us up when we fall, and is something that everyone needs now and then. It is our responsibility to encourage our family, friends and especially our children.
As far as I can see, the giving and receiving of encouragement is the key to having an unusually fulfilling life. Now I’m not talking about the “puppy’s and rainbows” some people pass out without any thought. I’m talking about honest encouragement, which means to be encouraged to do what the voice inside is telling you to do. Not the voice that says “I want a donut”, but the softer voice who tells you someone needs a kind word, a hug, or a smile. The voice that tells you that something is not only your special talent, but why you are here, and what you need to contribute to the world. This is a whisper from the universe, telling what your job is, and what it expects.
The universe gave each of us a unique voice, a unique talent, and a unique way of being in the world. It is time we all start listening to that little voice, sharing our talents and helping each other. Once you do you will find that the voice is never wrong and it will bring you moments of happiness you never thought possible.
This is how I finally realized that my true calling was photographing love. Flowers and mountains are nice, but it's the love between two people that is my passion to capture, and what I plan to do with the rest of my life.
